Toledo

This half-day optional excursion will take you to the former Spanish capital of Toledo. Known as the “city of the three cultures,” this was a place of peaceful coexistence of, Jews, Christians and Moors. Toledo preserves an artistic and cultural legacy in the form of churches, palaces, fortresses, mosques and synagogues. Enjoy a panoramic drive around the city and visit the cathedral that dominates Toledo’s skyline. Then continue on to the Church of Santo Tomé where you’ll view The Burial of Count Orgaz, one of El Greco’s most famous works. Step inside one of Toledo's synagogues and finish off your excursion with a stop at a local sword-making workshop.

​Feel the warm Mediterranean air breeze by as you explore Barcelona on a guided bicycle tour. This bicycle-friendly city has more than 75 miles of lanes for cyclists, providing a safe, fun, and fast way to gain a deeper understanding of Barcelona’s richly diverse streets and neighborhoods. Stop along the way to learn historical details about the city’s famous sites before pedaling on to your next destination.

Barcelona Flamenco Evening

​To better understand the soul of Spain, choose to attend an optional flamenco performance this evening. Born of Indian, Moorish, Arabian and gypsy influences, flamenco dance is a passionate display dramatic poses and colorful costumes, accompanied by song and guitar. Marvel at the intricate rhythms created by a dancer’s steps, castanets (wooden finger cymbals) and clapping. (Please note: The duration of the performance is 1 hour and a beverage is included.)

Swiss Alps Experience
This exciting half-day optional adventure takes you to the top of Mount Pilatus, the majestic mountain backdrop of Lucerne. In the summer, take a boat across Lake Lucerne and then ride the Pilatus cog railway—the steepest in the world—to the top. After 45 spectacular minutes and 6,387 feet, you’ll reach the summit and be rewarded with a splendid panorama of Lucerne, its lake and the glorious snow-capped Alps. On a clear day, you can see for more than 200 miles! (Note: Warm clothes and appropriate shoes are recommended)

Opt to join us for a special Swiss Folklore Event. Swiss culinary traditions draw upon those of Germany, France and Italy; today, you’ll enjoy a delicious meal, where you’ll have the chance to try fondue -the Swiss national dish! Afterwards, watch a cultural show, complete with yodeling, traditional dancing, and Alpine horns.
​The tour takes you around the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, and you get to see parts that you could only have imagined before. It's hard to imagine the enormous size of the stadium without visiting, and for that reason alone, even those of you who aren't die-hard fans, will appreciate the chance to visit the house of the Real Madrid.
